Two Good Movie Rentals

Over the last few days LaRue and I watched a couple of good movies we rented -

Admissions is a Sundance award winner. It's kind of hard to describe. It's about a girl applying for college who lives with her mother and a sister who is a savant.

The World's Fastest Indian is based on the true story of an older man in New Zealand who takes his 1920's motorcycle to the Bonneville Salt Flats. This happened in the 1960's and the record he set still stands today for that class of motorcycle.

Father's Day

Man, I made off like a bandit this Father's Day!

LaRue gave me a shirt and a couple of books -
The Official Movie Guide for Superman Returns.
And the second book in the Maximum Ride story. I'm really excited to read this one since I enjoyed the first novel and have been reading the blog featuring the book's characters: 6 Kids, 12 Wings, and 1 Blog.

Liz got me this:
Whoo-Hoo! It's the color Palm Z22. It's a smaller Palm with just the basic stuff - calendar, address book, etc. No multimedia. But the best feature is the ebook reader program so I can load it with novels and read them on the Palm. Much handier for taking a "book" to work.

Google Maps

I have decided to periodically update my Google Analytics Map images and post them on a linking page. I have put a link in the right sidebar. I am hoping to update this about once a week. I will be changing the date of the link when I upload a new image.

The Weather Changes

After a few days in temperatures in the 90's I broke down and installed the air conditioners. For the two days since then - nothing but wind, cold and rain!

I am getting the old Impala going again. I have a couple of new belts to put on and then get it inspected. Probably do that tomorrow. Since I can do the registration renewal online I should have it licensed to go before the weekend is out.

I'm still trying to track down a steering column for the truck. But I know a guy....

Da Vinci Code

LaRue and I finally went to see Da Vinci Code. We both enjoyed it quite a lot. I am now looking forward to the DVD so I can watch it with the captioning on to catch some of the dialog we couldn't hear in the theater.

As far as the movie itself went....it was pretty close to the book. They had to take a few shortcuts and alterations, but kept quite true to the story (as I remember the book from reading it two years ago).

Next on the list of summer must see movies will be Superman Returns.
